Poppit Cottage is situated in the middle of the popular
estuary side village of St Dogmaels which provides a basic range
of facilities and amenities catering for most everyday needs. It
is a short distance from the very popular beach of Poppit Sands
and from the market town of Cardigan. St. Dogmaels lies close to
the Pembrokeshire Coast and National Park.
Poppit Cottage has recently been
tastefully and sympathetically upgraded retaining the character
and appeal of the original dwelling yet incorporating modern
specifications. The accommodation is laid out to open plan
living area and has central heating and double glazing.
The area
The area is a haven for wildlife and dolphins and seals are
often sighted in the bay. The property is 1mile from
Cardigan where there
is a Theatre/cinema,
Skateboard park,
Heritage centre, Indoor market, three supermarkets including
Tesco. Poppit Sands is 1 1/2 miles and has a beautiful sandy
beach at the mouth of the river Teifi. It has cliffs and rocks
at one end with outstanding rock formations. There are also sand
dunes at the back of the beach. It is possible to launch
dinghies from the beach. The coast is excellent for canoeing.
When the surf is up, the waves are second to none.
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is on your doorstep and the
ancient Preseli hills are nearby with their standing stones and
cromlechs. The Poppit Sands Surf Lifesaving club and the RNLI
provide Lifeguard cover during the holiday season. The RNLI have
a state of the art rescue centre adjacent to the Lifeguards. The
Poppit Sands Cafe is across the road from the lifeboat,
providing all the usual beach refreshments, including home baked
cakes and meals. They also sell wetsuits and boogie boards and
other beach toys.
